International North Pacific Fisheries Commission (1952-1992)

The International North Pacific Fisheries Commission (INPFC) was established by the International Convention for the High Seas Fisheries of the North Pacific Ocean in 1952, with membership of Canada, Japan and the United States of America.

The INPFC has made great contribution to the understanding of the life history and distribution of anadromous species, groundfish, crab and marine mammals in the North Pacific Ocean and Bering Sea.

INPFC was dissolved as the Convention for the Conservation of Anadromous Stocks in the North Pacific Ocean entered into force on February 16, 1993.

INPFC publications are available on request through the Secretariat of the NPAFC (North Pacific Anadromous Fish Commission).
